Chili
INGREDIENTS
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
- 1 (15 oz) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (15 oz) can kidney beans
- 1 (15 oz) can pinto beans
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1/8 cup diced celery
- 1/4 cup diced green chili pepper (buy 4 oz can)
- 1 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup water (or 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup beer)
DIRECTIONS
- Brown ground beef and drain.
- Combine all ingredients in a large pot and heat to boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 2-3 hours stirring every 15 minutes.
- Add one extra tablespoon of green chili peppers for mild, two for medium.
Makes 6 servings.
